My portfolio as HR Practitioner at PEEPA entailed the following:-

Relationship Management

Manage the administration function in HR

Processing accurate and timeous pay-roll data for submission and reconciliation of deductions to third parties (Sage VIP Premier administrator)

Produce various monthly reports

Policy formulation and implementation

Drive and coordinate HR initiatives as well as staff welfare initiatives for PEEPA e.g. Teambuilding, Wellness and Staff Awards

Ensure all HR processes are synergized with development for staff resourcing eg. Recruitment/Talent Acquisition

Monitor and ensure consistent adherence and compliance to Human Resource procedures as outlined in the Conditions of Employment

Assist HR Manager to prepare and manage the HR Budget continuously liaising with Finance department on budget and cashflow status; informing them of anomalies that may arise in a particular month when over spent. Review budget as and when the need arises

Assist in managing the Industrial Relations climate of PEEPA

Ensure that PEEPA’s Talent pool is trained, there is a training plan in place and that all training budgeted for and approved is carried out and recorded

Implementation of Performance Management (PMS)

Responsible for Leave administration – Administrator/Super-user of Employee Self Service (ESS-Sage VIP)

Monitor and facilitate staff salary advances/loans including group scheme car, personal & housing loans, loan amortization, ensuring that they are in accordance with Company procedures and that they receive final approval by the CEO

Advise HR Manager on remuneration/benefits, policies, benchmarking and other processes

  • enforced company policy and procedures relating to human resources activity.
  • Updated key human resource metrics on turnover and terminations using reporting tools on HRMS database.
