Botswana's apex state-owned Investment and Trade Promotion Agency (ITPA) mandated to accelerating economic growth and development of the country by promoting and attracting both foreign direct investment (FDI) and domestic investment (DI) in priority sectors of the economy.

Main Duties

• Assist and coordinate BITC's activities in the promotion and attraction of both foreign and domestic investment in Botswana's Mining, Manufacturing and Energy sectors.
• Development and implementation of targeted lead generation and Go-T-Market strategies.
• Promote Botswana's brand globally and position the country as a safe and viable investment destination.
• Actively promote and market trade and investment opportunities within Botswana's priority sectors.
• Provide relevant pre-investment advisory services and guidance to prospective investors.
• Identify and facilitate relevant stakeholder engagement needs of prospective and existing investors.
• Provide investor aftercare services to the assigned portfolio.
• Build strong strategic partnerships with private sector and relevant public and non-state actors.
• Represent BITC and contribute effectively to assigned technical committees and projects.
• Conduct investment appraisal on projects submitted for BITC accreditation.

• Initiate, plan, organize and coordinate the development and delivery of Business Advisory Services to the Agency and its clients.
• Provision of quality mentoring, training and business counseling services to existing and potential CEDA clients.
• Build strong relationships with other local and international entrepreneurial development actors.
• Identify, develop, and implement impactful entrepreneurial development interventions.
• Monitor performance and impact of outsourced business development service providers.
• Conduct periodic diagnostic reviews of assigned client portfolio.

• Develop and sustain local SMEs through targeted interventions.
• Facilitate access to finance for entrepreneurs through business/proposal development.
• Provide business advisory services, mentorship and coaching interventions.
• Identify and recommend suitable technical interventions to improve operational efficiency.
• Conduct continuous macroeconomic and industry research on the priority sectors.

• Reconcile and manage all Government Central bank account with Bank of Botswana.
• Preparation of monthly reconciliation statements of central government accounts.
• Proactively perform performance tests on Government Accounting and Budgeting system (GABS).
• Member of Accountant General Training Team where I trained staff on performance and productivity issues.
