• Improved intern satisfaction by developing and implementing comprehensive orientation, allocated them to teams and assignments and grouped them with a mentor in which they worked towards achieving established goals.

• Maintaining effective records of minutes in Morbidity and Mortality Meetings held monthly.

• My role included consulting inpatients and outpatients, history taking, examinations and diagnostics as well as coming up with effective management plans and performing emergency life-saving interventions
• I've also assisted in elective and emergency operations throughout my time in the department.

• Volunteered at Botswana Baylor Children's Clinical Centre of Excellence using interpersonal communication skills to convey important information on sexual health to youth of Botswana living with HIV/AIDS.

• Completed rotations in Internal Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Gynaecology, and General Surgery.

Internal Medicine Completed rotations (3 months)

My role included initial patient assessment, history taking, physical, diagnostic and management planning. As well as perform fundamental medical procedures in the ward which aided in patient management. In addition, I provided patient and family counselling and collaborated effectively with a team of Physicians and medical students to do tasks that supported additional specialised management.

Obstetrics and Gynaecology (3 months)

Obstetrics and Gynaecology, department, I was able to effectively manage the ward and intra-operative responsibilities. I have had the privilege of carrying out and assisting with several medical procedures, such as caesarean sections, salpingectomies, and minor operations like evacuations. Along with procedures, I had to take the patient's history, perform an examination, make diagnoses, and treat reproductive diseases.

Paediatrics (3 months)

I developed my level of autonomy in patient care while working with a group of paediatricians under their supervision. My duties included admitting patients, making diagnoses, and creating plans to help with patient management. This included daily ward work, which involved performing small procedures to improve the patient's condition. In addition, I provided cases from patients I admitted at morning reports.

General Surgery (3 months)

My role as an intern included patient assessment, history taking and updating progress reports, diagnosing and managing patients. I also performed minor procedures and assisted in major procedures as well as patient and family counselling.

• I was responsible for covering patient floors which included duties such as transporting medical equipment, discharging patients, helping the nursing staff with all their needs as well as training new volunteers in multiple occasions.

• I taught science and math to a standard 5 class at Masa Primary School during afternoon tutorial lessons.
